Inspiration

Ah, 2019. That was a big year for me. I graduated from graduate school with a Master’s in Art therapy, helped my mom through her chemo appointments, visited Arizona for the first time (fun fact, I decided to move here before I had ever stepped foot in AZ, crazy I know), I moved out of state, got hired at my first “big girl” job out of school, first cross country road trip with my dad (highly recommend), and also completed my very first oil painting. What a year. As stressful and chaotic as it was at times I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

My mom once told me that this painting made her sad because she looked at it as her having to let me go as I head into the canyon on my own. I suppose she was right. That was the year where I was truly heading into life on my own. I’ve always been one who seeks adventure or longs for a quest of some kind. I don’t always know how to act on it or what to do with that feeling all the time but it’s always there within my soul. Waiting for the opportunity to arise. This was the year where I finally acted on it and I am so glad I did. I have met some of the most beautiful people, have seen the most gorgeous landscapes and experienced the most magical things since being here. I feel like I finally found a place where I belong and where everything just…”fits”. It all finally makes sense. So I encourage anyone who’s reading this to find your adventure and to take that leap. I promise you, it’s worth it.
